Artificial intelligence, space, semiconductors, cyber, and biotech are no longer niche policy areas. They are the central variables in great power competition, democratic resilience, and international security.
FAST exists because that conversation deserves better analysis. We are a community of Georgetown students who believe that serious policy work requires technical literacy, and that technical expertise without strategic context is incomplete. We write, convene, and debate — with rigor and without deference to easy answers.

We produce policy briefs, analytical essays, and long-form commentary on the most consequential technology and foreign policy questions of our time. Our work is written for policymakers, practitioners, and informed public audiences.

We host speaker events, roundtables, and working sessions with policymakers, scholars, and practitioners working at the tech-security frontier. Our events bring together Georgetown's JD, MSFS, and undergraduate communities around shared questions.

We develop the next generation of analysts and policymakers who can think clearly about technology, strategy, and governance — in the same breath. Through workshops, editorial feedback, and mentorship, we build the skills serious policy work demands.
